Why we built it

The average African seller juggles WhatsApp for orders, a notebook for accounts, MoMo for payments, and a Facebook page for marketing. Each tool was built for somewhere else — none of them talk to each other.

Meanwhile, the big platforms that were built for Africa take massive cuts on every sale, hold your customer data hostage, and offer no path to credit when you’re ready to scale.

We thought there should be a better option. So we built one. Adwuma (Twi for “work”) is a single app where you run your business, list to the marketplace, accept payments, keep books, and grow from sales into credit. Free to start. No commission. No data lock-in.
